San Francisco 49ers rookie defensive end Nick Bosa is on track to suit up for Sunday's season opener against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after dealing with an ankle sprain.
"He's going (to play) ... He should be (ready)," said defensive coordinator Robert Saleh, according to Matt Barrows of The Athletic.
The 2019 second overall pick has been out since early August and shed his walking boot Aug. 14.
While it's possible the 49ers limit the 21-year-old's snaps in his NFL debut, Bosa's surprisingly quick return to health is a major boost for a defense looking to rebound from a poor 2018 season.
