Report: Dolphins want more than 1st-round pick for Minkah
The Miami Dolphins are asking teams for a first-round pick plus "something else" in trade talks involving Minkah Fitzpatrick, sources told Adam Schefter of ESPN.
The second-year defensive back reportedly received permission from the Dolphins to seek a trade after growing disgruntled over his new role in Miami.
Fitzpatrick was drafted 11th overall last year and quickly emerged as one of the top slot cornerbacks in the league. The former Alabama safety has been moved to more of a box role under rookie head coach Brian Flores.
At least five teams have reportedly expressed interest in Fitzpatrick, but Miami's high asking price could prevent a deal from coming to fruition.
Fitzpatrick is under contract through the 2021 season, and could also be retained for 2022 via the fifth-year option that comes with rookie contracts for first-round picks.
Fitzpatrick broke up nine passes and notched a pair of interceptions last year.
