A pair of hurting defenses made a trade Monday.

The Atlanta Falcons shipped linebacker Duke Riley, a former third-round pick, to the Philadelphia Eagles for veteran defensive back Johnathan Cyprien, the teams announced.

Atlanta also sent a 2020 sixth-round pick to the Eagles for a 2020 seventh-round selection as part of the deal.

The move comes after the Falcons lost star safety Keanu Neal to an Achilles injury. Cyprien signed with the Eagles in early August for the veteran's minimum of $805,000 and appeared in all four games this season, recording two tackles. He missed the entire 2018 campaign with a torn ACL.

Riley has started 16 of the 32 games he's appeared in since being drafted in 2017. He's recorded 90 tackles.

The Eagles have an ailing defense and played two games in five days this past week.
