Brees throwing 2 weeks after thumb surgery
Drew Brees is intent on beating his six-week recovery timeline.
The New Orleans Saints quarterback is already throwing after undergoing thumb surgery a little over two weeks ago.
Brees injured the thumb on his throwing hand when it collided with Aaron Donald on Sept. 15. He underwent surgery three days later.
"As far as the timetable for getting back, though, they say six-to-eight weeks. I think I can beat that, but I'm just gonna take it one week at a time and see how things go," Brees said last week.
Jay Glazer of FOX Sports reported last week that Brees had an internal brace placed on his thumb to accelerate his recovery.
Teddy Bridgewater has replaced Brees while starting the past two games for the Saints, leading the team to consecutive victories.
