Report: Roethlisberger 'livid' with $5K fine for Apple Watch
Ben Roethlisberger is out for the season, but that hasn't stopped him from becoming the latest recipient of a watch-related fine.
The Pittsburgh Steelers signal-caller wore an Apple Watch while on the sideline for the team's Week 4 win and has been consequently fined $5,000 by the league, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
NFL rules ban electric devices that are capable of transmitting messages from the sideline.
Roethlisberger is believed to be "livid" about the fine, the first in his 16-year career, and will appeal it, according to Schefter.
The quarterback argued that he was never warned against wearing the watch, which he apparently didn't even realize was on his wrist, as he is unable to use his right arm due to his injury and said he was dressed by his wife.
