An MRI on Monday revealed that Kansas City Chiefs defensive lineman Chris Jones will be forced to miss time due to a groin injury suffered in Sunday night's loss to the Indianapolis Colts, a source told Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

Jones is reportedly considered week-to-week.

The 25-year-old left the game during the second quarter and was unable to return. Without its primary playmaker, the Chiefs' defense struggled to stop the Colts' rushing attack.

Fellow defensive lineman Xavier Williams also left the defeat with an injury, forcing the AFC West club to roll with second-year pro Derrick Nnadi and rookie Khalen Saunders.

Jones is the key cog on Kansas City's defense line. He earned second-team All-Pro honors in 2018 after a breakout 15.5-sack campaign.
