Gurley doubtful, Talib out vs. 49ers
Los Angeles Rams running back Todd Gurley is in danger of missing Sunday's game against the San Francisco 49ers due to a quad injury after being listed as doubtful by head coach Sean McVay on Friday, according to Gary Klein of the Los Angeles Times.
In addition, the Rams will be without cornerback Aqib Talib, who was ruled out of the important divisional clash with a ribs injury.
Both players missed all three practices this week.
Gurley suffered the left thigh contusion in last week's loss to the Seattle Seahawks.
McVay said Thursday that the star back's lingering pain entering this week caught the Rams "off guard."
If Gurley is forced to miss Week 6, the Rams will likely rely heavily on Malcolm Brown, with rookie Darrell Henderson acting as his backup.
So far this season, Gurley's production has paled in comparison to recent years. He has racked up 270 rushing yards, 68 receiving yards, and five touchdowns on the ground through five weeks.
