Average TNF viewership up 14% through Week 6

Players continue to loathe Thursday Night Football, but the latest viewership update shows that fans continue to watch it.
Through Week 6, average TNF viewership per game is up 14% relative to the same point of the season in 2018, according to NFL Communications.
The Week 6 installment, which saw the New England Patriots defeat the New York Giants, drew 16.8 million viewers, up 9% from the 2018 comparable between the Philadelphia Eagles and Giants.
TNF begins in Week 2, as the NFL season opener isn't considered part of the package even though it takes place on a Thursday night.
