Report: AB hopes NFL resolves playing status in next few weeks
Free-agent receiver Antonio Brown reportedly wants to end his time in the NFL wilderness soon.
Brown, who declared he was done with football in September before quickly reversing his decision, hopes the NFL can resolve his playing status in the next few weeks before he attempts to land with a fourth team since the start of the calendar year, sources told ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.
The NFL is currently investigating allegations of sexual assault against Brown from his former trainer, which came from a federal lawsuit. The receiver is also accused of sending intimidating texts to a woman who says Brown made an unwanted sexual advance toward her in 2017.
The league expects to speak with Brown as part of its ongoing investigation, added Fowler.
Brown reportedly wants to be certain he'll be allowed to play before deciding on his next landing spot.
On Wednesday, Brown took to Instagram Live to call for the New England Patriots to re-sign him.
"They still gotta pay me so might as well let me earn it," said Brown.
The 31-year-old reportedly filed grievances against the Patriots and Oakland Raiders last week as he seeks to recoup roughly $40 million in unpaid salary, fines, and voided guarantees.
