Report: Cooper dealing with thigh bruise, but no long-term damage
Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Amari Cooper was diagnosed with a thigh bruise after being forced to leave Sunday's loss to the New York Jets in the first half, a source told Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
While the injury can be severely painful, there is no indication of long-term damage, added Rapoport.
Without their top receiver, the 3-3 Cowboys suffered their third straight loss.
Michael Gallup struggled with drops against the New York Jets, finishing with 48 yards on four catches, while Tavon Austin led Dallas in receiving with 64 yards.
Cooper leads the Cowboys in catches (33), receiving yards (515), and touchdowns (five). It would be a major blow to the NFC East club's offense if the wideout were to miss time.
Dallas is embarking on a vital divisional stretch of its schedule. The Cowboys play the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday night in Week 7 before traveling to face the New York Giants in Week 9 following a bye.
