Cowboys' Vander Esch, Quinn ruled out of SNF with injuries
Dallas Cowboys defenders Leighton Vander Esch and Robert Quinn were ruled out of the team's divisional matchup with the Philadelphia Eagles, according to Cowboys sideline reporter Kristi Scales.
Vander Esch sustained a neck injury, while Quinn is dealing with a rib issue, Scales adds.
The 23-year-old Vander Esch is coming off an impressive rookie season that saw him finish third among all players in combined tackles (140) while earning Pro Bowl and second-team All-Pro honors.
This season, the Boise State product contributed 51 combined tackles, 0.5 sacks, two passes defended, and one forced fumble through the first six weeks. He added two tackles - including one for loss - before leaving in the second quarter.
Quinn, who the Cowboys acquired for a sixth-round pick in March, sustained his rib injury on the final defensive snap of the first half, just a few plays after recording his sixth sack in five games this season.
The 29-year-old led the NFC with 19 sacks in 2013 and appears to have recaptured that Pro Bowl form since returning from a two-game suspension for PED use.
