Detroit Lions running back Kerryon Johnson is expected to miss "some time" after suffering a knee injury in Week 7, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
The Lions will label Johnson as week-to-week for the time being, Schefter adds.
The second-year tailback left early in Detroit's loss to the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday. After briefly visiting the locker room, he returned to the bench with a brace over his right leg.
Johnson has somewhat struggled through six games in 2019 following a productive rookie campaign. The 22-year-old is averaging 3.3 yards per carry with three touchdowns on the year.
Rookie sixth-round pick Ty Johnson and veteran J.D. McKissic will presumably lead the Lions' backfield until Johnson is cleared to return.
