New York Jets head coach Adam Gase announced Monday that linebacker C.J. Mosley will five-to-six more weeks with the groin injury that has hampered him throughout the season, according to Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News.
The 27-year-old aggravated his groin in Week 7 while returning from a four-game absence. He's suited up for only two contests in 2019.
Mosley was expected to be a centerpiece of the Jets' defense after joining the club on a five-year, $85-million contract in free agency. He made four Pro Bowls in five years with the Baltimore Ravens prior to signing in New York.
The 1-6 Jets will take on the Miami Dolphins in Week 9.
