Report: Redskins want 1st-rounder or playmaker for Williams
The Washington Redskins won't trade Trent Williams unless they receive a first-round draft pick or a package that includes a playmaker, reports ESPN's John Keim.
The Cleveland Browns have been most heavily linked to Williams, who made seven consecutive Pro Bowls from 2012-18. But the Redskins are asking the Browns for marquee players such as cornerback Denzel Ward, which Cleveland won't consider, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
After refusing to move him for months, the Redskins reportedly opened themselves Monday to the idea of dealing Williams at the deadline. The disgruntled left tackle has held out all season after a summer squabble over the franchise's handling of a medical situation.
Williams is signed through the 2020 season and will be 32 years old when his contract expires.
