Dallas Cowboys linebacker Leighton Vander Esch is likely to sit out Monday's divisional game against the New York Giants as he continues to have issues with a neck injury suffered in Week 7, sources told ESPN's Todd Archer.
He was officially listed as questionable for the contest.
The Cowboys were hoping Vander Esch would be able to recover after their bye week, but the second-year linebacker is apparently still dealing with soreness and issues with his range of motion.
The 23-year-old was injured in an awkward collision in Dallas' win on Oct. 20 against the Philadelphia Eagles.
If Vander Esch is sidelined, Sean Lee will start alongside Jaylon Smith.
