Kittle doubtful for MNF
San Francisco 49ers star tight end George Kittle is officially listed as doubtful for the club's Monday Night Football matchup against the Seattle Seahawks due to knee and ankle issues, head coach Kyle Shanahan told reporters Saturday, including NBCS 49ers' Jennifer Lee Chan.
Kittle suffered the injuries during the team's win over the Arizona Cardinals in Week 9 and hasn't practiced yet this week, adds Maiocco.
Head coach Kyle Shanahan didn't say much when asked about his Pro Bowl tight end's ailments, revealing only that Kittle's MRI showed some knee and ankle "issues."
If the 26-year-old can't play, backup Ross Dwelley will replace him. The team could also consider activating veteran Garrett Celek from the physically-unable-to-perform list for the divisional matchup.
Kittle is coming off a sophomore campaign when he broke the single-season receiving yards record for tight ends. Through eight games in 2019, the third-year pro has contributed 541 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns on 46 catches.
