Eagles reportedly make Brooks highest-paid guard with 4-year extension
The Philadelphia Eagles signed guard Brandon Brooks to a four-year contract extension Monday, the team announced.
The deal is worth $56.5 million, with $30 million guaranteed, and makes Brooks the highest-paid guard in the NFL, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Dallas Cowboys star Zack Martin previously held the distinction after signing a deal in June 2018 worth $14 million per season. Brooks' contract averages $14.13 million.

Brooks' guaranteed money trails only Martin's $32 million at signing, according to Spotrac.
The two-time Pro Bowler (2017, 2018) was a key component of the Eagles' Super Bowl win in 2018 and is widely considered one of the league's premier guards.
Brooks, who has yet to give up a sack this season, is ranked as the No. 1 offensive lineman in the NFL this season by Pro Football Focus.
The veteran was selected by the Houston Texans in the third round of the 2012 draft. He spent four seasons with the AFC South club before joining the Eagles during 2016's free agency.
