Seahawks' Geno Smith pokes fun at MNF coin-toss confusion
Monday's NFC West thriller between the Seattle Seahawks and San Francisco 49ers made headlines for a number of reasons, but a Geno Smith coin-toss call certainly wasn't a storyline fans expected.
Seattle sent its backup quarterback out for the overtime coin toss. Smith won the toss by selecting heads, but a number of videos surfaced afterward calling his choice into question.
Guys Geno Smith 100% said “heads.” It just has some twang to it. Hold up to your ear and you can tell. pic.twitter.com/7sYXc1C24u

Some onlookers even believed the veteran passer said "hails" to avoid choosing an option. On Tuesday, he poked fun at the conspiracy.

Smith said postgame he selected heads because quarterback Russell Wilson chose tails during the opening coin toss, according to Jeremy Bergman of NFL.com.
The coin toss ultimately had little impact on the game, as neither team scored on its opening possession of the extra frame.
