Ajayi has been recovering from a torn ACL and has yet to play this season.
The Eagles lost Darren Sproles for the season due to a hip injury earlier Friday, and Jordan Howard has yet to be cleared for contact after suffering a stinger in his shoulder against the Chicago Bears on Nov 3.
The injuries have left rookie Miles Sanders and second-year pro Boston Scott as Philadelphia's only two healthy backfield options.
Ajayi played in 11 combined games for the Eagles in 2017 and 2018, racking up 592 yards and four touchdowns on 115 carries (5.1 yards per tote).
The 26-year-old suffered a season-ending knee injury in Week 5 of the 2018 campaign.
