Cowboys falter again as Bills inch closer to playoffs
The Dallas Cowboys did nothing to cool head coach Jason Garrett's hot seat on Thanksgiving Day while falling 26-15 at home to the Buffalo Bills.
Dallas lost for the third time in four games, days after owner Jerry Jones called out Garrett and his staff. Buffalo, meanwhile, inched closer to locking up an AFC playoff berth by improving to 9-3.
Beginning games slowly has hindered the Cowboys all season, but they actually started strong on Thursday. Their offense marched down the field on the game's opening possession, capping the drive with an eight-yard touchdown pass from Dak Prescott to Jason Witten.
However, it was all downhill from there for Dallas. The Bills rattled off 26 straight points before conceding a garbage-time touchdown that brought the score to within two possessions.
The Bills got two touchdowns from quarterback Josh Allen - a 25-yard pass to former Cowboys receiver Cole Beasley, and a 15-yard rush - along with a 28-yard passing score from John Brown to Devin Singletary on a trick play.
Dallas still hasn't defeated a team with a winning record this season, but the Cowboys remain atop the weak NFC East.
Special teams were problematic for the Cowboys yet again in Week 13, as Brett Maher missed both his field-goal attempts. Dallas also suffered from special-teams miscues during Sunday's loss to the New England Patriots, drawing the ire of Jones.
