Report: Chargers' James likely to return from IR vs. Broncos
Los Angeles Chargers safety Derwin James has been designated to return from injured reserve and is likely to play Sunday against the Denver Broncos in Week 13, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
James has missed all 11 games this season after suffering a stress fracture in his foot during training camp in August.
The 23-year-old was back on the practice field Monday:
James, selected 17th overall in the 2018 NFL Draft, produced a stellar rookie campaign last season. The defensive back was named a first-team All-Pro after racking up 105 total tackles, three interceptions, and 3.5 sacks.
The 4-7 Chargers are coming off their bye week and sit on the fringes of the AFC wild-card race. L.A. will likely need to win out to earn a playoff spot, and the hope will be that James' return can spark a run to the postseason.
