Denver Broncos rookie quarterback Drew Lock will make his first career start Sunday against the Los Angeles Chargers and the job is expected to be his for the remainder of the season, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.
His hold on the job will depend entirely on his play. Broncos head coach Vic Fangio was reluctant to announce Lock as the starter until he performed sufficiently in practice this week.
The Broncos traded up to the 10th pick of the second round in order to select the Missouri product.
Veteran Joe Flacco began the year under center until he was put on IR with a neck injury. Third-year pro Brandon Allen started the past three games and led the Broncos to a 1-2 record during that span.
The Broncos are 3-8 on the season.
