Winston suffered tiny hand fracture in shootout win vs. Colts
An X-ray revealed that Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston suffered a tiny fracture in his hand during Sunday's 38-35 win over the Indianapolis Colts, head coach Bruce Arians announced, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
The quarterback was able to return to the game after briefly exiting for one drive in the third quarter. Arians said Winston had trouble gripping the football after halftime before slowly gaining his strength back.
Winston threw for a career-high 456 yards with four touchdowns - two of which came after he returned to the contest - but added another three interceptions to take his league-leading total to 23.
The Buccaneers pulled off their third straight win to improve to 6-7 without wide receiver Mike Evans, who suffered a hamstring injury on a 61-yard touchdown late in the first quarter.
Arians didn't have a significant update on Evans' status but said the injury wasn't good, per Pewter Report.
