Suggs waived by Cardinals
The Arizona Cardinals waived linebacker Terrell Suggs on Friday, head coach Kliff Kingsbury announced, per ESPN's Josh Weinfuss.
Kingsbury said the decision was mutual, as it will provide Arizona with a chance to put younger players on the field and will give the veteran pass-rusher an opportunity to join a new team.
If another club claims Suggs on Monday, it will owe him $353,000 for the final two weeks of the regular season, according to ESPN's Field Yates.
The Cardinals signed Suggs, who spent 16 years with the Baltimore Ravens, as a free agent last offseason, but his playing time decreased throughout the campaign.
Suggs - whose contract will be up at the end of 2019 - produced 5.5 sacks, four forced fumbles, and 37 tackles for the Cardinals.
The seven-time Pro Bowler racked up 18 sacks across his last two years with Baltimore. He could be an intriguing late-season addition for a team looking to boost its pass rush.
