Lynch, Seahawks discussing potential reunion
Marshawn Lynch and the Seattle Seahawks will meet Monday to discuss a potential reunion, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
The injury-riddled Seahawks are without running backs Chris Carson, Rashaad Penny, and C.J. Prosise for the remainder of the season, leaving only Travis Homer on the active roster.
"He'll be flying in here this morning and we're going to give him a really good chance to play for us," head coach Pete Carroll told 710 ESPN Seattle.
Lynch played for the Seahawks from 2010 to 2015, winning a Super Bowl and earning the nickname "Beast Mode" for his unparalleled tough running style. He retired after the 2015 campaign but returned a year later to play for his hometown Oakland Raiders.
The 33-year-old rushed for 376 yards and three touchdowns on 90 carries for the Raiders last season before landing on injured reserve. He's been a free agent since March.
Along with Lynch, Seattle is expected to bring in Robert Turbin for a visit.
The playoff-bound Seahawks have dropped two of their last three contests but can still win the NFC West by defeating the San Francisco 49ers in Week 17.
