Cooper wanted more deep balls in loss to Eagles

Dallas Cowboys receiver Amari Cooper didn't hold back his feelings regarding the pass plays called in Sunday's loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.

With a chance to win the NFC East and eliminate the Eagles from playoff contention, the Cowboys lost 17-9. Cooper caught just four passes for 24 yards.

"To be honest, it wasn't nothing to do with chemistry," Cooper said after the game, according to Cowboys staff writer David Helman. "It's just the way the DBs were playing those particular routes. Like, for example, on one of the routes it was a curl. And I beat him at the line of scrimmage and he was under me. Obviously, with a curl, you have to stop - and he was right there. It's just the way they were playing.

"We could've ran more deep routes, I feel like. The go ball was a good route to run tonight, but we didn't get to it."

The Cowboys had a chance to score on their final drive while trailing by eight points, but Cooper was seen on the sidelines during the team's fourth-down pass play to the end zone. The ball instead went to Michael Gallup, falling incomplete.

A team source told NFL Network's Jane Slater that Cooper wasn't on the field due to a "rotation change."
