Ravens to rest Jackson, other stars vs. Steelers

With the No. 1 seed secured, the Baltimore Ravens will sit quarterback Lamar Jackson and a handful of their other top players against the Pittsburgh Steelers, head coach John Harbaugh announced Monday.

Safety Earl Thomas, running back Mark Ingram, guard Marshal Yanda, and defensive tackle Brandon Williams will join Jackson on the sideline for Sunday's game.

Robert Griffin III will start in place of the MVP front-runner and Harbaugh added that rookie Trace McSorley could also see playing time, according to Jamison Hensley of ESPN. Jackson finishes his outstanding sophomore season with 3,127 passing yards and 1,206 rushing yards - an NFL record for a QB - as well as 43 total touchdowns (36 passing and seven rushing).

Ingram suffered a minor calf injury in Week 16, but Harbaugh said the Ravens are looking for the running back to be ready for the playoffs.

The Steelers are battling with the Tennessee Titans and Oakland Raiders for the final AFC wild-card spot, and need a win against Baltimore to keep their hopes alive.
