Oakland Raiders running back Josh Jacobs is not expected to suit up in his team's crucial Week 17 game against the Denver Broncos, a source told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Jacobs is still battling a shoulder injury and recently underwent surgery for a skin infection. He missed last week's win over the Los Angeles Chargers while nursing the shoulder ailment.

Sitting at 7-8, the Raiders still have a slight chance to make the playoffs for the first time since 2016. To qualify for the postseason, the AFC West club must beat the Broncos and have the Tennessee Titans and Pittsburgh Steelers lose. Oakland also needs a victory by the Indianapolis Colts, as well as a win or tie by one of the Chargers, Chicago Bears, Detroit Lions, or New England Patriots.

Jacobs has amassed 1,150 yards and seven touchdowns on the ground through 13 games this season, emerging as a top contender for Offensive Rookie of the Year.

DeAndre Washington and Jalen Richard will continue to split backfield duties with the 2019 first-round pick sidelined. Washington rushed for 85 yards and one touchdown on 23 carries in Week 16.
