Miami Dolphins cornerback Xavien Howard was arrested for domestic battery Sunday night following an incident involving his fiancee, a source told ESPN's Cameron Wolfe.

Howard allegedly grabbed the woman's arms during an argument and pushed her into a mirrored glass wall, causing her to fall, according to Joe Schad of The Palm Beach Post.

"We are aware of the situation and currently gathering information," the Dolphins said in a statement obtained by NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. "We will have no further comment at this time."

Howard played in five games for Miami this season before landing on injured reserve with a knee injury. He was selected to the Pro Bowl in 2018 after a seven-interception campaign.

The 26-year-old signed a five-year, $76.5-million contract extension with the Dolphins in May to become the highest-paid cornerback in the NFL.
