Report: Jones, Garrett to meet for 3rd time Thursday
Jason Garrett's time with the Dallas Cowboys will extend for at least another day.
The longtime head coach will get a third meeting with owner Jerry Jones and team executive vice president Stephen Jones on Thursday, sources told ESPN.
The Joneses and Garrett talked on Monday and Tuesday, but no decision about the coach's future was announced. Garrett's contract is set to expire on January 14.
After the Cowboys failed to make the playoffs with an 8-8 record in 2019, it was widely expected the NFC East team would part ways with Garrett, who's been in his role since 2010 while winning just two playoff games.
But Jerry has said there's no timetable for a decision, and he isn't concerned about other teams, including two in the NFC East, making hirings in the meantime.
