The Cleveland Browns submitted a request to interview Indianapolis Colts assistant general manager Ed Dodds for their vacant GM job, reports NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.

They have also asked permission to speak with Philadelphia Eagles vice president of football operations Andrew Berry for the opening, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.

Cleveland, currently the only franchise with a head coaching vacancy, would pair Dodds with head coaching candidate and San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator Robert Saleh, whom Dodds worked with as members of the Seattle Seahawks, according to Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com.

Indianapolis promoted Dodds to his current role directly under Colts general manager Chris Ballard in 2018. He previously spent 10 seasons with the Seahawks as a senior personnel executive.

The Browns parted ways with former GM John Dorsey on Dec. 31 after a disappointing 6-10 campaign. Dorsey spent two full seasons in the role, with the club going 13-18-1 over that span.
