Larry Fitzgerald returning for 17th NFL season
Legendary Arizona Cardinals receiver Larry Fitzgerald will return to the team in 2020 after signing a one-year contract to return for his 17th NFL season, the club announced on Wednesday.
The 36-year-old played the 2019 season under a new head coach in Kliff Kingsbury and caught passes from a rookie quarterback in Kyler Murray.
Fitzgerald was the Cardinals' leading receiver in 2019, recording 75 catches for 804 yards and four touchdowns. He averaged 10.7 yards per reception, his highest mark since 2015.
The future Hall of Famer is the NFL's active leader in career receptions (1,378), receiving yards (17,083), and touchdowns (120).
He currently ranks second all-time in career receptions, trailing Jerry Rice by 171 catches, and second all-time in receiving yards, trailing Rice by 5,812 yards.
