2020 NFL Draft red carpet will be on water in Vegas
Las Vegas is pulling out all the stops for the NFL's first draft in Sin City.
The red carpet and the red carpet stage will be located on the water in front of the Bellagio fountains, the league confirmed Tuesday, while the main stage will be located next to Caesars Forum and Linq High Roller.
Players attending the 2020 draft will be transported to the red-carpet stage by boat, according to Arash Markazi of the L.A. Times.
"Embracing Las Vegas's unique energy and iconic locations as the backdrop for the 2020 NFL Draft will further elevate this growing event," said Peter O'Reilly, NFL executive vice president of club business and league events.
The Clark County Commission unanimously accepted the plans following a meeting Tuesday.
The 2020 draft is set for April 23-25.
To accommodate the expected 400,000-plus attendees, the Las Vegas Strip will be shut down to vehicle traffic for the entirety of the event, sources told Mick Akers of the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
The Raiders will move into their new $1.9-billion stadium in Vegas for the 2020 season.
