The Arizona Cardinals have signed D.J. Humphries to a three-year, $45-million contract, keeping the left tackle from hitting free agency, sources told Mike Garafolo of NFL Network.
The agreement reportedly contains $29 million in guaranteed money. Humphries' annual average salary of $15 million is about $1 million less than the projected fee for offensive linemen eligible for the franchise tag.
Humphries, 26, is coming off one of his best NFL seasons. His improved play was significant for a Cardinals squad that was looking to develop rookie quarterback Kyler Murray in 2019.
Arizona drafted Humphries out of Florida with the 24th selection in the first round of the 2015 NFL Draft.
