Raiders to land ex-Bears LB Kwiatkoski on reported 3-year, $21M deal
Free-agent linebacker Nick Kwiatkoski signaled in a tweet Monday that he has agreed to sign with the Las Vegas Raiders.
Shortly after, the move was confirmed by NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, who cited a source. Kwiatkoski will reportedly sign a three-year, $21-million deal, according to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network. The new contract apparently includes $13.5 million in guaranteed money.
Kwiatkoski had 76 total tackles, three sacks, and one forced fumble in 16 appearances for the Bears in 2019.
The Raiders were extremely thin at the position following the departures of Vontaze Burfict and Will Compton. Tahir Whitehead was the only linebacker left on the roster with significant starting experience.
Las Vegas reportedly intended to aggressively pursue fellow inside linebacker Cory Littleton. The former Los Angeles Rams standout is expected to receive one of the biggest deals in free agency, so it remains to be seen how the Kwiatkoski signing impacts the Raiders' plans.
