Missing Hopkins? Watson quotes Drake's 'iconic duos' lyric in tweet
It appears Deshaun Watson isn't over losing his favorite weapon.
The Houston Texans quarterback hinted the shocking trade of All-Pro receiver DeAndre Hopkins is still preying on his mind in a Monday tweet in which he quoted lyrics from Drake's 2018 song "Emotionless."
Watson and Hopkins were well on their way to icon status in three seasons together. The wideout caught 315 passes for 4,115 yards and 31 touchdowns in 46 games with the former Clemson standout, while Watson made two Pro Bowl appearances and established himself as arguably one of the game's best quarterbacks.
But their time together came to an end last week when Houston shipped off Hopkins to the Arizona Cardinals for running back David Johnson, a second-round pick, and a swap of fourths.
The QB called the situation "crazy" in a tweet thanking Hopkins after the trade.
Watson is left with the oft-injured Will Fuller, Kenny Stills, and free-agent addition Randall Cobb as his top targets.
