Seahawks add Phillip Dorsett on 1-year deal
Former New England Patriots wide receiver Phillip Dorsett will sign a one-year contract with the Seattle Seahawks, he told Josina Anderson of ESPN.
Dorsett spent three seasons with the Patriots, earning one Super Bowl ring. He had a memorable touchdown grab against the Kansas City Chiefs in the 2019 AFC Championship Game. New England acquired the former first-round pick from the Indianapolis Colts before the 2017 season opener for quarterback Jacoby Brissett.
Dorsett was known for his blazing speed coming out of college, but he's struggled to take advantage of it in the NFL. In five career seasons, he's surpassed 500 yards just once.
In 14 games last season, Dorsett registered 397 yards and five touchdowns on 29 receptions.
The 27-year-old will join a receiving corps in Seattle that features Tyler Lockett and DK Metcalf, as well as newly signed tight end Greg Olsen.
