Report: Cowboys finalizing deal with Dontari Poe
The Dallas Cowboys are finalizing a contract with former Carolina Panthers defensive tackle Dontari Poe, reports NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
In Dallas, the 29-year-old would reunite with former Panthers line mate Gerald McCoy, who also joined the Cowboys in free agency.
Poe spent the last two seasons in Carolina, collecting 39 tackles and five sacks over 27 appearances. The Memphis product has played for the Kansas City Chiefs, Atlanta Falcons, and Panthers since entering the league as a first-round pick in 2012.
The Cowboys have devoted most of their resources to defense since re-signing wide receiver Amari Cooper at the onset of free agency, already agreeing to deals with McCoy and safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix.
The Cowboys' defense ranked ninth in yards allowed and 11th in points allowed last season.
