Eric Reid wants investigation, new vote after language changed in CBA

NFL safety Eric Reid wants a new vote on the league's collective bargaining agreement after it was discovered language in the CBA was changed following its approval.

Reid is calling for an investigation and a revote after - as Reid's lawyers put it in a letter to NFLPA executive director DeMaurice Smith - the "CBA posted on the NFLPA website has new language that was not in the March 5 version that players received, reviewed, and voted on."

The CBA passed March 15 on a 1,019-959 vote.

Reid and his lawyers say the new version of the CBA reduces benefits to an even larger amount of disabled players than in the one that was voted upon.

In the CBA that was agreed upon, both parties agreed to amend the disability plan to lower monthly benefits for disabled retired players who submitted disability applications on or after Jan. 1, 2015. That language has since been changed to read it will lower monthly benefits for those who initiated the administrative process prior to Jan. 1, 2015.

The NFL has declined comment on the subject and the NFLPA is withholding comment for the time being, ESPN reports.
