Tagovailoa held pro day workout in private gym
In lieu of a pro day due to the coronavirus pandemic, 2020 NFL Draft prospect Tua Tagovailoa held an hour-long workout at a local private gym with fewer than 10 people present, report NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo.
Tagovailoa made 55 scripted throws and 20 additional passes. His representatives will distribute the video to all 32 NFL teams.
The star quarterback out of Alabama did not throw at the scouting combine in February as he continued his recovery from a serious hip injury he sustained in November. He was to use his pro day to allay any fears teams may have about his health.
Still, concerns remain about Tagovailoa's recovery and durability. Former NFL executive Mike Lombardi reported Wednesday that the lefty passer failed two physicals and had previously unreported wrist injuries.
The NFL draft will be held from April 23-25.
