Baltimore Ravens right tackle Orlando Brown Jr. gave an honest assessment of the coronavirus pandemic and how it might affect the 2020 NFL season.
"I am a little scared," Brown said Thursday on a conference call with reporters when asked about the possibility of losing the year, adding that it's a "serious situation."
"I am a little worried that we won't have a season, but, like I said, that's up to the governors and president and Roger Goodell," he continued.
The Ravens are set to enter 2020 with reigning league MVP Lamar Jackson and a top-flight defense that now includes recent free-agency addition Calais Campbell.
Baltimore went 14-2 while capturing the top seed in the conference in 2019, and the team is expected to contend again in the fall.
Brown and his teammates can only hope they'll get the opportunity to avenge their upset loss in the divisional round this past January.
"I don't think the NFL and the Ravens organization is going to put us in a bad position. If things aren't ready, they're not ready," Brown said.
"It's a contact sport. I hope and pray that things work out for the better and that we can get a hold of it," he added.
