The Miami Dolphins, who own the fifth pick in Thursday's draft, have been in contact with the teams above them and are gauging the price of a move up to the Detroit Lions' third overall pick to potentially select an offensive tackle, sources told Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

The top offensive tackles in the draft are widely considered to be Andrew Thomas, Tristan Wirfs, Mekhi Becton, and Jedrick Wills Jr. All four are expected to be drafted within the first 10-to-15 selections.

Assuming Joe Burrow and Chase Young are locked in as the No. 1 and No. 2 picks, respectively, the Dolphins would be able to take their best-rated offensive tackle.

However, it would be a major shock if Miami, which owns three first-rounders, uses its resources to make a move for a lineman instead of a quarterback.

The AFC East club has been the team most connected with Tua Tagovailoa and Justin Herbert, who are projected to be the next best QBs available after Burrow.

Veteran Ryan Fitzpatrick and former first-rounder Josh Rosen are currently atop the Dolphins' QB depth chart.
