Jerry Jones will ride solo during the 2020 NFL Draft.

The Dallas Cowboys owner will be calling in his team's draft picks from his house alone while his son, executive vice president Stephen Jones, remains in his own home a few miles away, according to Clarence E. Hill Jr. of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

Jerry was famously stopped from drafting Johnny Manziel in 2014, and Stephen convinced him to instead select guard Zack Martin. Manziel lasted two seasons with the Cleveland Browns, while Martin has made six straight All-Pro teams.

"One of the things I'm not going to miss is when I came out of those draft rooms over the weekend, my old shins used to have big old bruises on them," Jerry joked recently. "That was from Stephen kicking me under the table for three straight days relative to some of our decision-making. I think I'm going to kind of miss that physical punching that goes on as we're conducting this draft."

The two Joneses will decide on Dallas' selections along with new head coach Mike McCarthy and scouting director Will McClay.

But with Jerry physically alone due to social distancing guidelines, it could be harder to talk the owner out of making the picks he deems best.

The Cowboys hold the 17th pick in the first round of the draft, which kicks off Thursday night.
