Brady refutes report he was 'worn out' by Patriots OC McDaniels
Tom Brady quickly disputed a report that his decision to leave the New England Patriots this offseason was influenced by a rocky relationship with Pats offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels.
A source told NFL reporter Gary Myers that Brady was "worn out" after 12 seasons with McDaniels, wanted more input into weekly game plans, and didn't trust his wide receivers during the latter stage of his Patriots tenure.
Later on Monday, Brady took to Instagram to shoot down the report.
"Please stop this nonsense!" Brady wrote. "Please be more responsible with reporting," the QB added before stating that he and McDaniels are "brothers for life."
Brady and McDaniels enjoyed a long run of success in New England, but they were often spotted arguing on the sideline during games. Brady consistently brushed off those incidents when speaking to the media.
Sophomore Jarrett Stidham is expected to succeed Brady as the Patriots' starting quarterback in 2020.
