Free-agent wide receiver Josh Gordon is preparing to petition the NFL for reinstatement and hopes to be cleared by training camp, a source told Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.
Gordon finished the 2019 season on the suspended list after violating the league's policy on performance-enhancing drugs and substances of abuse. He's been suspended five times for substance abuse over his career.
Gordon was waived by the New England Patriots last season before the Seattle Seahawks subsequently claimed him. He totaled 27 receptions for 426 yards and one touchdown.
The 29-year-old began his career with the Cleveland Browns and led the NFL in receiving in 2013 with 1,646 yards and nine touchdowns despite missing two games.
