Jaguars march to police station to raise awareness of racial injustice
The Jacksonville Jaguars conducted an organization-wide march Friday from TIAA Bank Field to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office to raise awareness of racial injustice.
In correspondence with the Jacksonville area code, the march began at 9:04 a.m. ET.
Players, coaches, and fans participated in the march.
"We need to have a voice that will help create sustainable, dramatic change," head coach Doug Marrone said, according to John Oehser of Jaguars.com.
Most of the participants, including wide receiver Chris Conley and running backs coach Terry Robiskie, wore Black Lives Matter T-shirts.
A number of players who weren't able to attend the march sent in video messages, including quarterback Gardner Minshew.
"I believe we have people on this team, and in this organization, that are committed to making real change," Minshew said. "We realize this won't happen from one march, from one day, but a consistent effort to bring justice and equality into our city, into our community."
