NFL commissioner Roger Goodell provided a strong message of support to the league's black workforce Friday.
Less than 24 hours after a collection of the NFL's superstar black players asked the league to condemn racism, admit wrongdoing in silencing players from peacefully protesting, and state that black lives matter, Goodell did just that.

He admitted the league was "wrong for not listening" to players who chose to begin protesting during the 2016 season.
"I personally protest with you and want to be part of the much-needed change in this country," Goodell added.
"Without black players, there would be no National Football League. And the protests around the country are emblematic of the centuries of silence, inequality, and oppression of black players, coaches, fans, and staff."
