The NFL and NFLPA are discussing the possibility of certain players - such as rookies and veterans who changed clubs and require physicals - returning to team facilities on a limited basis before June 26, sources told NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.
Potential dates have not been set and summer minicamps aren't expected to take place, Pelissero adds.
Commissioner Roger Goodell sent a league-wide memo last week allowing coaches to return to team facilities starting June 5 amid the COVID-19 pandemic, but most players aren't expected back until training camp.
The NFL issued protocols to clubs Monday laying out plans for players' eventual return to club facilities. These included configuring locker rooms so athletes stay at least six feet apart, holding virtual meetings, and classifying staff in tiers.
Neither the league nor its teams have yet to confirm when training camps will be held, but clubs will be forced to stay in their own facilities and joint practices won't be permitted.
