Zeke among Cowboys, Texans players to reportedly test positive for COVID-19
Ezekiel Elliott is among the players from the Dallas Cowboys and Houston Texans who tested positive for COVID-19, Elliott's agent confirmed Monday to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
The star running back is "feeling good," according to Rapoport.
Elliott's agent confirmed the news shortly after Rapoport and Tom Pelissero reported that "several" players from both the Cowboys and Texans had tested positive for the coronavirus.
None of the players are reportedly believed to have visited their respective team facilities, and both clubs are following proper health protocols.
Shortly after his agent's confirmation, Elliott publicly questioned how the Cowboys' medical information got into the hands of the media:
Elliott is the latest big-name NFLer to test positive for COVID-19 following New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton and Denver Broncos linebacker Von Miller.
The Cowboys were forced to speak to Elliott and Dak Prescott about the importance of following government health guidelines after the quarterback hosted a home dinner in April and the running back attended.
It was initially reported that Prescott held a party with 30 people, but he refuted that number, saying fewer than 10 were at his house.
Prescott is healthy, according to Rapoport.
In May, NFL chief medical officer Dr. Allen Sills said the league "fully" expects coronavirus cases.
"Our challenge is to identify them as quickly as possible and prevent spread to any other participants," said Sills.
As of Sunday, Texas had at least 87,854 coronavirus cases and 1,976 deaths, according to The Associated Press.
The Texas Department of State Health Services also reported 27,537 active cases and 2,287 current hospitalizations.
