The New York Jets and New York Giants announced Monday in conjunction with New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy that fans won't be permitted at MetLife Stadium until further notice due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Fans are also barred from each team's training camp and practices. All 32 NFL clubs are scheduled to open camp on July 28.

Murphy raised the limit on outdoor gatherings in New Jersey from 250 to 500 people earlier in July. He hasn't indicated when the number may increase again.

The NFL is yet to outline its safety protocols for the 2020 season, prompting some of the game's biggest stars - including Patrick Mahomes, Russell Wilson, and J.J. Watt - to publicly voice concern.
